It is gathered that the prices of petrol & diesel may be reduced and the announcement is expected shortly – by this evening.
Currently, the system of fixing the prices of diesel oil as per the international market trend prevails. However, petrol prices are fixed by the oil corporations only after approval from central government.
Over the last few weeks, the price of crude oil has been reducing in the international market.
Reliable sources close to oil corporation inform that it has been decided to extend this price reduction benefit to the consumers by reducing the prices of petrol & diesel.
The price of petrol may be down by Rs. 1.75 per litre and that of diesel by Rs. 1/- per litre.
