Formulation of New Youth Policy- Tamil Nadu Government

During the assembly meet on Wednesday, the Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalitha confirmed the formulation of new youth policy, so as to make sure the overall progress of the youngsters across the state.

Moreover, the government also brings about the Special Chief Minister’s Award for youngsters. This award will fetch Rs 50,000, a citation and a medal. This award goes for 3 men and 3 women in the age of 15 and 35, who drives for the growth of the society, early on this Independence Day.

Chief Minister also added that, the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University at Melakottaiyur Sports University arrangements which got stormed out during her earlier regime during 2005 would be set back with several amenitities worth Rs.18.3 Crores.

For revamping sports services in Tiruchirappalli, Kanyakumari, Kancheepuram and Dindigul districts, government has allocated Rs 4 Crores and also Rs 3 Crores would be agreed to mend 25 swimming pools in 23 districts all over the state, she added.

Along with the swimming pools across the districts, a water purification system would be set up at a cost of Rs 15 lakh each. As the first phase water purification system would be set at swimming pools at Velachery and Shenoy Nagar in Chennai. After completion of this phase, similar work will be carried out in swimming pools at Madurai and Trichy. Also renovation of existing swimming pools would be carried out at a cost of Rs. 3 Crores.
