Heavy traffic in T.Nagar owing to Kodambakkam flyover maintenance

Owing to the traffic diversions made for maintenance works at Kodambakkam flyover, many roads in T.Nagar faced heavy traffic problems on Saturday. Commuters have pleaded to appoint additional traffic police officials to dilute the severity of traffic until the maintenance works get over.
The Kodambakam flyover is currently in its maintenance phase. As concrete layers are to be laid over the flyover, the corporation placed a request to cut down traffic until works are over. The request was accepted and traffic diversions were made, and the works are planned to get completed within end of summer vacation. Diversions are made from Valluvar Kottam till route leading to Vadapazhani.
Only two wheelers are allowed in the route from Vadapazhani to Valluvar Kottam, and it is made one way too. Vehicles wanting to travel from Valluvar Kottam to Vadapazhani will have to travel through Magalingapuram, Usman Road, Pattulous road, take Rangarajapuram flyover and reach Arcod road.
On Saturday, as people throng to T.Nagar for shopping during weekends, heavy traffic was found in the places.
