Live webcast plan fails due to malfunction of servers

Due to malfunction of servers the live webcasting planned by the Election Commission for the Lok Sabha elections did not materialize. “Only 181 CCTV cameras provided live webcasting. We couldn’t monitor activities in most sensitive booths. Neither the EC nor the corporation has taken steps to resolve the issues.” District election officer Vikram Kapur said the poll proceedings had been recorded and would be transferred to a CD on Friday in the presence of observers. Many voters complained of lack of CCTV monitoring.
