Irksome condition with lack of bus stands and shelters

Approximately, over 3500 buses are operated for the public transport every day. While commuters wait inside the bus stands at few places, others get resting shadow areas under bus shelters. But, the irksome situation here is most of these bus stands and shelters are not in proper condition for the commuters to use, mainly because of lack of enough seats to rest.
Aiming to resolve this issue, the city corporation has come forward with a new program under which new and advanced bus stands and shelters will be set up at various places across the city. Places including Tambaram, Madipakkam, Pallikaranai, Medavakkam, Nanganallur, etc have already received such shelter set ups. Though it has brought a sigh of relief among the busy commuters in these areas, bus stops that are more populated every day are yet to get the same. Commuters at these areas are longing to have them, in fact. Speaking to one such regular commuter in a busy area of the city, he said people find it too tough to find enough seating space when they wait for buses, especially in the peak hours of the day.
