MCI Deny Permission to Increase Seats in Stanley Medical College
On bearing in mind about the grievance report of the college, the Medical Council of India (MCI) has trapped to its former decision to reject acquiescence to raise the number of seats in the MD General Medicine program at the Government Stanley Medical College.
During the meeting held in last week, this decision has been taken up by the statutory body’s Postgraduate Medical Education Committee.
The college ought for a rise of 10 more seats in MD General Medicine from the present strength of about 15 seats.
In the view of the council assessor’s statement on the physical and teaching facilities in the college, the committee has resolute to urge the Central government to frown on the scheme for rise of seats in the course.
Main reason behind the rejection was that the 15 PG students have being employed annually but the organization did not have the enough faculties for the increase.
The college then put forward the grievance report and higher powers met officials in Delhi to make clear the measures taken for set right the deficits.
We have informed about the status of our sufficient staff count to the officials who acknowledged our clarification. We are yet to obtain a proper communication on this newest conclusion, said a college official.
