Metro stations to get solar power soon

Very soon, metro stations are to go green. At these stations, solar power is to be used for maintaining trains.
Tunneling works underneath the old landmark of the city Anna Flyover or Gemini Flyover are to be carried out by the Chennai Metro Rail. Earlier, there were plans for avoiding the flyover.
Changes in Chennai Metro Rail schedule

Some minor changes have been carried out in the time schedule of Chennai Metro Rail services.
Chennai Metro Rail services along the underground stretches running between Nehru Park and Chennai Central, and Saidapet and AG-DMS are likely be functional by year end.
The Chennai Metro Rail Project officials informed that the tunneling and track laying work undertaken in the Anna Salai section will be completed by this September.
Following the inauguration of underground stretch between Thirumangalam and Nehru Park, the CMRL has now started the works needed to link its services with the Central station.
Private cabs to set up kiosks at CMRL
