On the occasion of the Pongal Special festive holidays, 8.36 lakh passengers travelled in the Chennai Metro Rail during the 5 days from 13th January to 17th January!
The news that has come out now is that on the 5th metro line between CMBT and Masdhavaram there would be 10 elevated metro stations and 5 underground metro stations.
If everything goes according to the plan, then in the future we might get connections between the metro stations and suburban stations at several places belonging to Chennai!!
In 2022, 6.09 crore of commuters travelled in the metro trains in Chennai and in the month of December alone 64.5 lakhs commuters used metro trains to reach their destinations in the city.
Waiting for the buses to go to places like Krishnagiri, Bengaluru etc would not be tedious and boring for the passengers at the Kuthambakkam bus terminus at Thirumazhisai.
