After getting approval from Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety, Metro Rail is expected to start commercial operations on the 8.33 km Chennai Airport-Little Mount stretch during the month of August.
All the works connected with the Rail’s second stretch from Little Mount to Chennai airport of Chennai Metro Rail has been completed and is ready for safety inspection.
Chennai Metro Rail services began the operations during the month of June 2015. The metro rail services between Koyambedu and Alandur had a overwhelming response.
The service timings with Chennai Metro Rail might get extended as its service from Chennai Airport is likely to get connected with other parts of the city by end of August.
