The disease that causes high blood sugar levels is termed as diabetes mellitus. It is known that insulin is a hormone that plays a role in transfer of sugar from the blood to the cells. Those who are diabetic, their body would not be able to produce enough insulin.

Those with diabetes could eat oranges having GI 40 and they could control the blood sugar levels.

Salad greens:
Grown in the ground, carrot roots are a common edible vegetable. This vegetable has lots of fibre and this could reduce the blood sugar levels. Apart from this, carrots could also lower cholesterol levels plus it could encourage healthy bowel movements.
