We would have come across many around us having cigarette in their hands and smoking even though knowing that smoking causes cancer plus other health issues. Smoking could also lead to many skin based issues and not many would be aware of that. It is said that if a person cares little about the skin then he/she would quit smoking instantly.

These are the various side effects of smoking on the skin.

Visible eye bags:
We would have seen many with bags under their eyes. It is said that if these eye bags were due to smoking then there is no use for the home remedies and eye creams. The nicotine in the cigarette could disrupt sleeping and finally could result in bags under the eyes.

Uneven skin tone:
It must be noted that the carbon monoxide present in the smoke displaces oxygen in the skin and this makes us look dull. Minerals are needed for repairing skin and hairs and smoking is responsible for depleting minerals.

Presence of acne:
One of the important side effects of smoking on the skin is formation of acne. This acne occurs because of nicotine that could narrow the blood vessels that cuts the oxygen rich blood flow to reach any of the tiny vessels in the skin.

Leads to wrinkles and faster ageing:
We all want to have glowing face without any wrinkles. Smoking could make our face full of wrinkles and there would be premature ageing. The point is smoking could hamper oxygen supply to the tissues and this leads to taking away of the youthful look.
