Myths behind eating breakfast and weight loss

One of the biggest myth in terms of eating is not to skip breakfast at any cost as it may lead to serious health issues. You heard it right! Yes it is a myth and need not be taken seriously, breakfast is not that much important as you think. Also the three meal per day schedule is one of the long time scam imposed on public by the food industry, also the medical industry backing it up to sell their drugs which is taken mostly before and after each meals in a day. It is high time to break some of these myths and know the real truth behind human eating habits and metabolism.

What is a breakfast?

As the name clearly suggest breakfast is to break a long fast that you were in the whole night. With this overnight fast the body regenerates and rejuvenates itself in many forms of whole system. So breaking a whole night fast with heavy food may actually reverse your healthy body giving some digestive issues. Eat like a King in the morning is not a good thing to follow for a long term period as it may take a toll on your health for sure. So it is always recommendable to have light food in the mornings, liquid or semi-solid diet will be a right choice for a breakfast.

Skipping Breakfast

Now in Indian scenario skipping a breakfast is considered to be a blunder. It is actually a very new concept introduced before few decades promoted mainly by food and medical industries all over the world.  Skipping a breakfast is not a big deal especially when it comes to weight loss. During a weight loss regime skipping breakfast and having healthy food all over the day will actually help the body to retune the metabolism and burn fat gradually depending on the physical activity.

People working out in the mornings can have breakfast depending on their hunger and fitness levels. But the morning workouts in a fasted state will truly bring tremendous weight results. Extending the fasting mode further after the exercise will allow the body to burn excess fat bringing a big change on the weight scale. Eating in this way is the new emerging dietary method called as Intermittent Fasting.

What is Intermittent Fasting?

Eating all your meals within a specified time and being in the fasted state for long hours can bring wonderful results in terms of weight loss and other bodily issues. Stopping all your meals before 7 P.M and not eating anything except water till the next day morning 11 A.M will keep your body in a fasted state for 16 long hours. This kind of eight hours of eating window and sixteen hours of fasting window (Totally 24 hours including the sleep time) is termed as 16/8 Intermittent Fasting. This stabilizes the metabolism of our body by lowering the insulin level raising up the growth hormone levels regenerating damaged cells and growing new ones after refeeding.

You can increase the fasting window depending on the fitness level and body weight. There ae other fasting regimes such as 18/6, Warrior Diet, Eat Stop Eat method, 24 Hours prolonged fasting every week and other methods that can be incorporated for gaining optimal health. Our ancestors followed this method naturally with the food scarcity prevailed that time period that made them so strong physically and mentally. Many research conducted all over the world discovers t the advantages of fasting. In Indian Scenario the ancient scripts has mentioned as, “Langadam Parama Houshadham”, which means fasting is the best medicine for all diseases. Let’s clear out all the preconceived myths about eating and have a healthy life with equal intervals to fast and feast.
