Get rid of these bad habits that are as dangerous as smoking!!

How many of us know that in India around 10 million people die every year due to smoking? Sounds shocking right!!

Truth is that India is home to 12% of the world`s smokers. These days, many youngsters smoke and the habit has turned very addictive and they find it tough to quit smoking. Despite knowing the fact that smoking would lead to cancer plus other health issues people smoke. There are other habits that are as dangerous as smoking and many of us do not consider them seriously. Point is that these habits have the potential to cause the same harm as smoking.

Habits that is as dangerous as smoking are

Poor diet:
Eating healthy foods is essential for our health to be good but not many follow this every day. Processed foods, junk foods and those rich in salt and sugars are often consumed by us. There are many who do not eat vegetables also. By not consuming healthy foods, we could get issues like obesity, diabetes etc in us.

Loneliness:
Our overall health would get affected badly due to chronic loneliness. Truth is that our brain health would be affected to a huge extent. There is enough evidence that is available and these reveal that there is a direct relation between loneliness and getting disease like dementia, Alzheimer’s etc. About 22 percent of elders stay alone in India. It is important to have adequate amounts of fruits, vegetables and proteins etc daily.

Inactive lifestyle:
A person would have more chances of getting colon cancer and lung cancer if he or she just sits for 2 hours continuously. It must be noted that this was regardless of other physical activity during the day. This has been proved by a research study conducted in 2014.

Sleep deprivation:
Our eyes would get strained plus we could get blurred vision etc if we sit for a long time before the screen. This would be due to the blue light from the screen. Sleep deprivation also occurs when we sit for a long time in front of the screen. It has been brought out that around 33% of adults have insomnia issues in them.

Negative and pessimistic attitude:
Many of us these days have a negative attitude and pessimism. It is worthy to note that pessimism is when we feel that the things would go wrong or not go as per our plans. Point is we could get depression and stress due to this attitude.
