Chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease of the joints that affects those with psoriasis is known as psoriatic arthritis. It is important to note that psoriatic arthritis is a one of the common types of arthritis that comes right after osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. When the body’s immune system attacks the healthy cells and tissues, we could get psoriatic arthritis issues in us.

Various symptoms of psoriatic arthritis are swelling, stiffness and joint pain etc. Joint inflammation cannot be cured but could be controlled or managed by some immuno-suppressants, anti-inflammatory drugs etc. The symptoms of psoriatic arthritis could be kept under control by making some changes in the diet.

Intake of anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids foods:
The persons with prostatic arthritis could eat foods rich in anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids foods. By this, the joint inflammation would get lowered. Few examples are fatty fishes like tuna, salmon etc. Seeds like walnuts, flaxseeds, seaweeds, chia seeds etc could also be consumed.

Intake of high fibre whole grains:
It has been revealed by some research studies that there exists a relation between psoriatic arthritis and obesity. It is said that those with psoriatic arthritis must manage their weights and control their blood sugar levels. Fibre rich whole grains would reduce inflammation and reduce spike in the blood sugar levels effectively. Few examples are whole oats, whole wheat, brown rice etc.

Intake of antioxidant rich foods:
Chronic inflammation could be avoided by consuming foods like green leafy vegetables, nuts, fresh fruits, dark coloured chocolates etc that are rich in antioxidants.

Intake of peppers:
Truth is that the sweet bell peppers and spicy chili peppers are filled with capsaicin. It is known that the substance P is a compound that triggers inflammation and pain impulses from the central nervous system or CNS and capsaicin reduces this substance P. Endorphins get released.

Intake of garlic:
This is also an important food and could be consumed by those with psoriatic arthritis. Garlic has inflammatory fighting properties is a known fact. It is good to eat fresh garlic.
