By drinking these herbal teas it is possible to control diabetes

India is a highly populated country is well known to many but how many of us are aware of the fact that India ranks second in the list of nations having most diabetes affected people. Shocking isn’t it!!

It is important to note that diabetes is a condition that causes blood sugar levels to increase. Healthy lifestyle along with proper medication could help us in managing this issue. People affected by diabetes are often advised by the doctors to cut down on the consumption of sugar, refined carbohydrates, saturated fats etc from their diet. Switching to whole wheat is recommended for the people having diabetes.

There are few herbal teas that could be consumed by us for controlling the diabetes. These are

Ginseng tea consumption:
By slowing down the carbohydrate absorption and by increasing the insulin secretion from the pancreas, ginseng tea does tremendously. It is said that by drinking this herbal tea every morning the blood sugar levels could be kept under control. Intake of fresh ginseng tea is better than powder or tablet form.

Bilberry tea consumption:
Intake of this tea could lower the blood glucose levels. To the cup of boiling water is added 1 to 3 teaspoons of bilberry and the combination is allowed to steep for 10 minutes.

Aloe vera tea consumption:
The research studies have shown that intake of aloe vera tea could be used to fight type-2 diabetes. It also reduces fasting plasma glucose levels in those who show signs of pre-diabetes. One tea spoon of aloe vera jelly is added to cup of brewed black herbal/green tea.

Sage tea consumption:
In those with diabetes, insulin activity is boosted by intake of sage tea. In the first step, cup full of sage leaves is poured to the boiling water. Then the water is strained well and consumed.

Fenugreek tea consumption:
Fenugreek is a popular cooking ingredient is well known. Fenugreek tea is good for managing diabetes because the soluble fibre in fenugreek slows down the digestion and absorption of carbohydrate. By these, blood sugar levels get reduced. It is superb to mention that this tea is rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals etc.
