Power cut peeps out

The chill climate is gone, and back is the hot season. Not just these, even the uninterrupted power supply is gone. “Regular maintenance” is gradually peeping out. According to the officials, these are necessary for maintaining the electrical installations, but truth is these are done to match with the power shortage. The number of areas experiencing power cut from 9am to 5pm is increasing too. About 9 areas including Royapettah to Nanganallur had power cut on Wednesday.
Speaking to one of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board official, he stated that there is no choice left other than power shutdown. Demand is more than the supply and hence, we are naturally forced to cut the power for meeting the shortfall. However, according to most residents, the full day power shutdown is worse than everyday hourly power cuts. In case of daily power cuts, we can at least match up with the use of inverters.
