These initiatives of upgrading the facilities have got a huge welcoming response from the Chennai Metro rail passengers!
In this scenario, Chennai Metro Rail has decided to introduce a new facility – the `Light Metro` Project!
It is learnt that this new project will link the Chennai Metro Rail with the busy locations situated near the Metro Station!
Generally, for laying an over-bridge link for a distance of 1 km costs Rs. 200 to Rs. 250 Crores and for constructing a subway, it costs Rs. 500 to Rs. 550 Crores. However, under this new Light Metro Project, laying an over-bridge link, it will cost only up to Rs. 200 Crores!
