Quick implementation of Chennai airport-Kilambakkam metro line is necessary now!!

Chennai airport metro train station is being used by 10000 plus commuters every day!!
To get to the airport, many flight passengers use metro trains to the airport. Public wanting to go to various localities in Chennai from places like Pallavaram, Chromepet and Tambaram etc take metro trains from the airport.
Extension of metro train from airport to Kilambakkam must be done by CMRL expediting the project faster and this was according to many residents. By this, the commuting time would be reduced.
It was brought to light by Mr. V. Santhanam from Chromepet that whenever the government announced such projects it would increase expectations of the commuters. He explained that though a suburban railway line is present till Tambaram everyday thousands go to Chennai airport as it was the closest metro station. He concluded that the mobility of the commuters would be eased and their lives would be transformed once the project comes into effect.
It was later highlighted by a Chitlapakkam resident that many depend on the metro trains to reach localities like Anna Nagar, Anna Salai etc in chennai. He pointed out the fact that the services of the feeder bus at the airport was inadequate. He wanted the authorities concerned to take steps quickly to implement the extension project. The DPR or Detailed Project Report of the project has been submitted to the TN govt and this was according to some officers belonging to CMRL.
Reducing system related delays would be important and this was mentioned by a former professor of urban engineering of Anna University, Mr. KP. Subramaniam. He was of the view that such infrastructural projects would take lots of time for planning and implementation etc. It is necessary to give priority to such special projects to execute them on correct time. Soon, the Kilambakkam bus terminus would be opened for the public and hence having the extension project in place would be very important..
The TN govt must focus on expanding the MTC bus fleet soon as the residents need an immediate solution till the metro rail works gets over. This was brought out by an urban transport expert Shreya Gadepalli.
