If you have thought that the month of May has gone without many hot days in Chennai, then the first day in June yesterday would have given some clue regarding the temperatures that would be recorded in Chennai in this month.
Yes!!The first 40 degrees Celsius in Chennai city for the year 2022 was recorded yesterday 1st June 2022. It was brought out by RMC that the maximum temperatures would surge in the next 2 days. On Wednesday, Nungambakkam in Chennai recorded 40 degrees Celsius. Meenambakkam recorded 40.1 degrees Celsius. The high temperature made the lives of the residents tough.
It was mentioned by RMC in Chennai that in the last 5 years in the month of June, extreme temperature was recorded in the year 2019 and it was 41.5 degrees Celsius. This was on 11th and 16th of June 2019. In 2017, the highest temperature recorded in June in Chennai was 41.1 degrees Celsius. The temperature shot up to 40.6 degrees Celsius in June 2020.
According to the Chennai weather blogger Mr. Pradeep john it was clear that yesterday was the first hottest day of the year 2022 in Chennai with the first 40 degrees Celsius. He added that the trend of hot days would continue in Chennai and it might even increase. He concluded that the city of Chennai has once again remained as the hottest place in TN. It is well known that in the month of May the days were not extremely hot this year in the city of Chennai.
