Get ready for hotter days in Chennai and TN

Posted on: 09/May/2022 9:50:08 AM
Indian meteorological department of IMD has stated that the state of TN would have hotter days after the cyclonic storm. It added that the weather system would induce NW winds blocking the sea breeze. Truth is that it would depend on the path of the cyclonic storm brewing in the Bay of Bengal.

For the next couple of days, Chennai and its neighbourhoods would have temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. Well marked low pressure area over south-east Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea has concentrated into depression. This was mentioned by IMD on Saturday.

Over the east central Bay of Bengal on Sunday, this depression would intensify into a cyclonic storm and this has been highlighted by IMD. It would move towards AP and Odisha coast by Monday morning leading to heavy rains. Information is that TN might not benefit from the rains and the temperature might go up by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius for the next few days.

It was later brought out by a senior officer belonging to IMD that the temperature would shoot up by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius and dry heat would accumulate. He concluded that there would be a spike in the temperatures for the next few days.
