Areas with prospects for rain today (5th March, Saturday)!

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that the low-pressure zone, formed over the Bay of Bengal and stabilized there, will transform into a deep depression zone!

The Director of the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, S. Balachandran, informed that a depression zone is formed in the first week of March is formed for the 1st ever time in history! The first-time-formed depression zeon in the 1st week of March is approaching the Tamil Nadu districts.

As regards history, over the last 130 years, there have been 5 cyclones and 2 depression zones have formed in the Bay of Bengal. The depression zone formed in 1938 approached Sri Lanka and another depression zone formed in 1994 approached Andaman.

Due to the low-pressure zone formed over the Bay of Bengal, likely to intensify into a depression zone, it is informed that there are prospects for heavy rain in 1 or 2 places in Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagappattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore, and Villupuram Districts.

It is informed further, that high-speed winds at 45 kmph are likely to blow over the districts of Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, and Nagappattinam Districts day-after-tomorrow (Monday, 7th March).

A warning has been issued to the fishermen not to venture into the sea in the southwest Bay of Bengal, central-west Bay of Bengal, and the Bay of Mannar as high-speed winds of up to 65 kmph are likely to blow!
