Important information about the low pressure over Bay of Bengal - Strong winds of 30kmph to 40kmph

On Friday, 25th February, RMC or regional meteorological centre had mentioned that a low pressure area would likely form over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining southern Andaman Sea on 28th February. It is learnt that the fishermen have been asked not to venture into the sea for the next 2 days.

According to Mr. P. Senthamarai Kannan, director, RMC, Chennai, on 26th February a low pressure area is likely to form over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining southern Andaman Sea. He added that due to the strong winds that would blow from 30kmph to 40kmph (over south coastal TN and Kanniyakumari coast) the fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea for the next 48 hours. 

It is important to mention that due to the variation in the direction of the easterly winds light to moderate is likely to take place in Dindigul, Theni, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Pudukottai, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam , Cuddalore, Kanniyakumari and Coimbatore etc for the next 2 days.  From Monday onwards, dry weather would be prevailing in the rest of Tamil Nadu. The sky in Chennai would be partly cloudy and in the mornings there would be mist or haze in Chennai for the next 2 days.
