Sensational!! Days to be warm and nights to be warmer in Chennai!!

For the next few days, the days would be warm and the nights would be warmer in Chennai. This would be mainly because of humid and moisture laden winds from sea moving towards land. The weather would be dry in Chennai and day temperatures would touch 32 degrees Celsius for another 2 days. The above normal temperatures in Chennai would be there till Friday and this was according to some private weather forecasters.
Chennai city and its suburbs would have mist in the early mornings for another 2 days and the skies would be partly cloudy. This was as per the IMD. The steady flow of easterlies over the land would be the cause for slightly above the normal temperatures. This would be supported by anti-cyclone, wind circulation in clockwise direction over Odisha and adjoining Bay of Bengal.
According to an official it was clear that the cold and dry northerly winds were cut off and just easterly winds have been prevailing now. There is a possibility of minimum temperature going above the normal. He added that the day temperatures might also increase by a degree but days might not be that hot. The cloudy skies would trap the heat in the land and due to this the day temperatures might be kept under check and the nights could become warmer.
Yesterday the maximum temperature that was recorded in Nungambakkam was 31.1degrees Celsius or 0.6 degrees above normal and in Meenambakkam the maximum temperature recorded was 31 degrees Celsius or 0.3 degrees above the normal.
