Women with PCOS issues must consume these important seeds to deal with the issue!!

One important issue that is affecting many women of reproductive age now is PCOS or polycystic ovarian syndrome. This is an endocrine based disorder and is responsible for various issues like irregular menstrual cycle, heavy bleeding, excess hair growth, acne etc. Hence, it is obvious that women find it very tough to cope up with this disorder. There are certain complications of this PCOS disorder and these are type -2 diabetes, obesity, sleep apnea, heart issues, mood based disorders etc. The bitter truth is that the exact reason why this PCOS occurs in women is not yet known. It is possible for us to manage or control PCOS in them by following certain changes in their lifestyle and changes in diet etc.

There are few seeds that could help a woman to deal with PCOS issue and these are

Intake of pumpkin seeds:

Various nutrients that are present in pumpkin seeds are magnesium, antioxidants, phosphorus, copper, iron, zinc etc. By eating pumpkin seeds, a woman would be able to avoid osteoporosis issues after her menopause. Hormonal balance is maintained plus the overall health of a woman gets better by consuming these seeds.

Intake of flaxseeds:

They contain omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants called lignans. In women with PCOS, excess estrogen is produced and this could lead to issues like bloating, mood swings, cramps, breast tenderness etc.  By consuming flaxseeds with lignans and omega-3 fatty acids etc, it would be possible to control excess estrogen production.

Intake of chia seeds:

Women suffering from PCOS could eat chia seeds that are full of fibers and omega-3 fatty acids etc. Intake of chia seeds could help the women to deal with hormonal fluctuation, mood swings etc. Periods of women with PCOS would get regularized. The overall health of the women would become better with the consumption of chia seeds rich in magnesium, calcium, iron etc.

Intake of sunflower seeds:

Progesterone levels could get boosted when a woman consumes sunflower seeds. Various PMS could be dealt with easily. It must be noted that intake of sunflower seeds rich in selenium, fiber and protein and having anti-inflammatory properties would be beneficial in treating various symptoms associated with PCOS.

Intake of sesame seeds:

Pre menstrual symptoms or PMS could be dealt by intake of sesame seeds that are rich in minerals like calcium, magnesium, zinc, vitamin E etc. Moreover, progesterone production increases. Hormonal disorders get regulated due to the proteins present in these seeds.

Foods that women with PCOS must not eat:

Avoid refined carbohydrates:

White bread, paste etc are refined carbohydrates and they must be avoided totally by those women with PCOS disorder. It is necessary that these women must take a well balanced diet with all nutrients.

Avoid oily and fried foods:

Certain foods like samosa, vada, chips etc are prepared using oils. Hence, when a woman with PCOS consumes these foods then it could affect her health badly.

Avoid processed foods:

Examples of processed foods are cakes, canned vegetables and fruits, biscuits etc and women with PCOS must not eat these processed foods.
