A ‘Red Alert’ warning on weather has been issued to 6 districts of Tamil Nadu today (Thursday, 18th November).
A warning has been given that there are prospects for very heavy rains in the 6 districts of Chennai, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Thiruvallur.
Indian Meteorological Department has also issued a warning that there are prospects for heavy rains in Puducherry State as well.
There are prospects for very heavy rains today (Thursday, 18th November) in the districts of Thiruvannamalai Kallakurichi, Salem, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Dharmapuri, Thirupathur, Vellore, and Ranippettai.
A deep depression zone is stabilized and centred over the Bay of Bengal. This is centred at a distance 300 km southeast of Puducherry in the east and southeast direction.
