The cool weather now in Chennai would be there for some more time to make the residents happy!!

The RMC or Regional Meteorological Centre has confirmed that the rains would continue in Chennai city and in the interior districts of TN for another 2 days.

For the next 2 days, several districts in TN would receive heavy rains with thunder storms. This was as per some officials belonging to RMC.

According to Mr. N. Puviarasan, director of Area Cyclone Warning Centre, because of southwest monsoons thunderstorms with heavy rains would occur in isolated places over The Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Salem, Dharmapuri, Namakkal, Perambalur, Ariyalur and in the Western Ghats districts of TN in the next 2 days. There would be moderate rains in few places over Kanniyakumari, interior districts and coastal TN, Puducherry and Karaikal.

In Chennai, the sky would be cloudy and there would be light to moderate rains in some places for the next 48 hours. Till 20th of July, the fishermen were asked not to go into the sea for catch fishes. This is due to the fact that in the south-western and central- western Arabian Sea there would be strong winds of 40kmph to 50kmph and occasional 60kmph speeds.

In Chennai, on Friday, the maximum temperatures decreased and the weather stations at Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam recorded 33 degrees Celsius and 31.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
