Signs of theatres opening are evident but we don’t know when! At the same time, producers are going the safe route. Take a look at the OTT releases in the upcoming months here;
Aishwarya Rajesh’s “Thittam Irandu”, directed by Vignesh Karthik, a debutant, will release on Sony Liv. “Thittam Irandu” with the caption Plan B seems to be an engrossing crime thriller! With a performer like Aishwarya, we can be assured it is going to be amazing. The movie is expected to release in August 2021.
Also, on Sony Liv, “Dhruvangal Pathinaaru” director Karthik Naren’s unreleased movie for a long time “Naragasooran” will be showcased. Arvind Swamy along with Shriya Saran and Sundeep Kishan, the movie created quite a buzz when it started. Produced by Gautham Menon, the movie didn’t see the light because of production issues. The movie may be released in August as well.
Going by Vijay Sethupathi’s work and also his fan following Sony Liv have also got the rights for the now 3-year-old movie “Kadaisi Vivasayi”. The movie was completed in 2018 itself but there was no buzz about the movie after that. Directed by “Kaaka Muttai” director Manikandan, Vijay Sethupathi plays the role of a farmer.
Next on the OTT screen is Prabhu Deva’s “Pon Manikkavel”. Live Chennai had earlier reported that the producers of the movie Nemichand Jebak and Hitesh Jebak were negotiating with OTT platforms for the release of the movie and finally the rights have been acquired by Disney+ Hotstar. This movie is also expected to release in August 2021.
