ONLY PASS and NO MARKS to be present on the certificates of the students of class 10 in TN

The school education department had cancelled the board exams for the students of class 10 and promoted the students to class 11 some time back due to the fear of the spread of Coronavirus infection pandemic. The mark sheets for the students would just have a pass declaration and no marks. This was as per some sources.
The admission to class11 would be based on the annual exam marks obtained in class 9 if the demand for either science or commerce or vocational stream was beyond the intake capacity. This was announced recently by the Directorate of School Education. It was later brought to light by a senior officer belonging to the Directorate of Examinations that the TN government allegedly withdrew its plan to calculate marks for the class10 students. Information collected is that the mark sheets that are compulsory for getting admissions for higher class would have only passed information in the subject column.
For issuing consolidated mark sheets, a provision would be made and the mark sheets would only have pass declaration information. He explained that the mark sheets would have other details like year of passing, school name etc. Sample mark sheets of class 10 students would be sent to the TN government for immediate approval. In the next 2 weeks, mark sheets would be printed and distributed to the class 10 students. The students could then submit their mark sheets to respective schools for new admission purposes. Point is that certificates of more than 9.3 lakhs class 10 students would be printed.
