3000 Special Buses to operate to facilitate citizens visit their native places to vote!

Tamil Nadu Government Transport Corporations have organised to operate special buses to facilitate the citizens to visit their native places to vote during the ensuing Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Elections.

From tomorrow (Thursday, 1st April) until 5th April, apart from the regular daily 2222 buses, 3090 special buses will also operate daily from Chennai making for a total of 14215 buses.

2644 special buses are to be operated from Coimbatore, Tirupur, Salem, and Bengaluru to various places.

From Chennai Metro City, these buses will operate from 1st to 3rd April from the Koyambedu. On 4th & 5th April, the special buses will operate from Madhavaram, KK Nagar, and Tambaram Bus Termini, Tambaram Railway Station Bus Terminus, Poonamallee, and Koyambedu.

An official from the TN Government Transport Corporation shared regarding this:

“The Election Special Buses are to be operated from tomorrow (Thursday, 1st April). However, the public has not been keen enough on booking these buses. Only 10000 citizens have reserved so far!

The buses will operate while strictly adhering to the guidelines for coronavirus prevention. To avoid the ‘Last Moment Rush’, the citizens can to the booking for the buses either through the App or the website https://www.tnstc.in/TNSTCOnline/.”
