Tomorrow (19th March) for filing nominations to contest election: over 2000 nominations filed so far!

For the ensuing Tamil Nadu State Legislative Assembly elections, over 2000 nominations have been received so far.
As tomorrow (Friday, 19th March) is the last day for filing nominations to contest the Legislative Assembly Elections, it is expected the number of nominations will increase further.
The filing of nominations to contest the election commenced on 12th March. On the 1st day, 59 nominations were received. On the 2nd day, (Monday, 13th March), there were over 800 nominations received.
As of Wednesday (Yesterday, 17th March), so far, over 2122 nominations have been filed. Out of these, 1755 contestants are males and 362 contestants were women. ! A Citizen of 3rd Gender has also filed nomination.
Tomorrow (Friday, 19th March) is the last day for filing nomination to contest the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Elections Hence, it is expected that a whole lot of contestants will be filing their nominations today (Thursday, 18th March). A large number of nominations have been received in some constituencies. For example, in the Karur Legislative Assembly Constituency, 43 nominations have been received! This is the highest number of nominations received. Further, Karur happens to be the constituency with most contestants in the entire State of Tamil Nadu!
Following this, more than 24 nominations have been received in the R K Nagar constituency. In the Thiruvannamalai constituency, more than 20 nominations have been received.
The scrutiny of the received nominations is scheduled to be conducted on 20th March. 22nd March is the last date for withdrawing the nomination. The final list of contestants will be released after 3.00 PM on 22nd March. At that time, the total number of consultants in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Constituencies will be known!
