Tata Consumer Products recognized for its sourcing practices at CII (FFF)

Tata Consumer Products (TCP), the focused consumer products company uniting the principal food and beverage interests of the Tata Group under one umbrella, has been recognized for its sourcing practices in the tea industry by CII Food Future Foundation (FFF) National Award for Sustainable Sourcing 2020.  The company has won the Award Trophy for Outstanding Performance in the Category of ‘Sectoral Value Chain on Tea’.

CII Food Future Foundation (FFF) works with the industry towards transforming systems for a food-secure, healthy and sustainable world. A strong vision for sustainability, effective supplier relationships and the trust that consumers have placed in the Company have helped Tata Consumer in embedding sustainability in its sourcing practices more effectively. The Company is one of the founding members of trustea, India’s Sustainability tea program, that has sustainably transformed over 650 million Kg or 50% of India’s tea. The program has been instrumental in disseminating sustainable agricultural practices to over 600,000 tea workers and 50,000 small tea growers; making it one of the largest sustainable agricultural programs worldwide.

Earlier in 2020, Tata Consumer Products was also recognized for its initiatives in areas related to Governance, Business Strategy, and emissions management by CDP, and for bringing down its absolute carbon emissions by 26% between 2010- 2020. The company received an A- rating, placing the company in CDP India 2020 Climate Change leadership band for the second consecutive year, out of a universe of 9600 global companies that were rated this year.
