Important piece of information for the school students!!

The government of TN is likely to issue an order for reopening of the schools for the classes for 10 and 12 between 19th January and 21st January 2021. It is now revealed that more than 75% of parent feedback was in favour of schools reopening.

It must be noted that the opinions of the parents were sought for the second time regarding reopening of the schools. For this, the government had organised feedback sessions in all the schools including private schools too.

In the month of November 2020, first feedback sessions took place and at that time many parents were not interested in sending their kids to the schools due to an increase in Covid-19 cases. As a result of this, the reopening of the schools was postponed indefinitely.

Now, the TN government would be announcing the beginning of the classes for the students belonging to 10 and 12 as these students would have board examinations. In both government as well as in the private schools in TN, more than 17 lakhs of students are studying in classes 10 and 12 is known.

There would not be reopening of the schools immediately after Pongal as many would have left for their native places for the Pongal festival. This was according to a senior officer from the school education department. Point is that 2 or 3 days would be given for the students to return back to their destinations and then the classes would begin. Pongal festival would come to an end on 16th January in TN. The senior officer hinted that the government might issue an order in a day or two.

Truncated syllabus for the students would be announced by the authorities. He then mentioned that the government would give instructions to all the schools not to force any student to attend classes. Truth is that online classes would continue for these students.

It is now revealed that even after the reopening of the schools in TN the authorities would hold review meetings if there are any changes in the standard operating procedures or SOP.
