All Time High!! Meenambakkam weather station records highest ever rains in January

In the last few days, Chennai received a huge amount of rain and it is now said that the Meenambakkam weather station has recorded the highest ever rainfall in the month of January.
In the year 1986, Meenambakkam weather station recorded 170 mm rains in January and this has been the highest till Thursday. It has been brought to light that by the morning of Thursday Meenambakkam weather station recorded 228.3mm rains. This is now the all time record for January. In the next 48 hours, Chennai and its suburbs would receive more rains and this was according to the weather prediction.
Information collected is that in the last 3 days Meenambakkam recorded 218.2 mm rains and this included 126.2 mm rains recorded between 8:30 am on Tuesday and 8:30 am on Wednesday. So far in this month of January, the record rainfall registered in the Meenambakkam weather station is about 221.1mm excess.
