In TN, free textbooks to be distributed for the students before the rains due to cyclone Nivar

The School Education Department or SED has directed all the schools to personally inform the parents to collect the books within 2 days. This was to make sure that the distribution of free textbooks for the second term students of state run schools were completed before the heavy rains. It is known that TN would receive heavy rains due to the cyclone Nihar in the next 2 days.
About a week back, the distribution of second semester textbooks and notebooks began and the children must come to their schools along with their parents to collect these.
All the government school authorities have been asked to finish the distribution by Wednesday evening itself as the cyclone is expected to bring heavy rains in TN. This was mentioned by a senior official belonging to SED. He explained about how the parents were asked to come to the schools along with their kids to collect the free textbooks within 2 days without fail so that the distribution would not be affected. The textbooks could be delivered at the homes for some special cases.
He concluded that dry rations like rice, dhal, black Bengal gram, green gram issued to the children under the Puratchi Thalaivar MGR Nutritious Meal programme would also be given along with the textbooks.
