Prospects for heavy rains in the next 24 hours in 6 districts!

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects for heavy rains in 6 districts in the next 24 hours.
A string depression zone is prevailing over the upper layers of the atmosphere over the Andhra Coast near Kakinada. This is drifting towards the northwest and due to this, there are prospects for mild to medium rain in the districts of Thiruvannamalai, Kanchipuram, Salem, Namakkal, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Coimbatore and Nilgiri District and prospects for mid rain in Puducherry.
It is further informed that there are prospects for heavy rains in the 6 districts of Vellore, Thiruvallur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Ranippettai, and Thirupathur.
As regards the Chennai Metro City, the weather will remain cloudy over the next 48 hours in the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs and there are prospects for mid rains in some parts of the city.
