Covaccine testing under the 2nd Phase!

The testing of the Covaccine, the vaccine developed to cure the coronavirus has reached the al-important 2nd Phase of testing.

As regards the Covishied vaccine created by Oxford University and prepared for coronavirus treatment, the testing on human has been stopped presently.  However, the Covaccine made in India has reached the all-important 2nd Phase of testing on human patients.

In this situation, the 1st Phase of testing undertaken for the Covaccine developed in India has proved a success as it was established that there were no side-effects after administering it. As such, the 2nd Phase of testing has started.

Indian Medical Research Council (IMRC) gave permission to Bharath Biotech on 23rd July to go ahead and test the Covaccine developed as a cure for the raging coronavirus pandemic administering to humans.

12 organisations have been selected in India for the testing phases Covaccine test is scheduled to be undertaken in the Tami Nadu State Chennai Kattankuathur SRM Medical College.

As per the tests undertaken throughout India, it has been established that those who were administered with the Covaccine are healthy after a period of 28 days, Covaccine has qualified for the 2nd Phase of testing. In the 1st Phase, Covaccine was administered to healthy self-volunteers in the age group 18 to 55.

In this scenario, in the 2nd Phase of testing, certain changes in the age-limit for testing has been made and people in the age group right from 12 years of age to senior citizens of 65 years of age is going to be administered with Covaccine.

Having established that the Covaccine has no side-effects in the 1st Phase of testing, the medicine`s capacity to raise immunity against the disease will be tested. In the 2nd Phase of testing, Covaccine will be administered twice on the 1st day, and after that on the 28th day,

After this, the vaccinated persons will be monitored on 42nd day, 56th day, and 118th day and watched over a period of 208 days.

The testing has been divided into 3 Phases for the human testing. In the 3rd Phase of testing, al cadres of pubic will be administered with this Covaccine for testing and once declared successful, it will be recommended for use as a treatment.

In Nagpur, 50 self-volunteers were administered with Covaccine. Dr Killurkar shared in this regard: We have administered 1-dose for 50 participants. In the 2nd Phase, Covaccine will be administered for 750 persons. For this Phase of testing, self-volunteers in the age group 12-65 have been enlisted.

In this situation, the Covacaccine maker Bharath Biotech has announced on Friday (11th September) that the coronavirus treatment Covaccine has been successful in the tests conducted on animals have been a success!
