The whole world has become thoroughly more advanced to sudden changes brought in by COVID-19 that has hit us by a storm, adding more changes to the global infrastructure not just in pharmacy, technology, science or any other forte. What is even more surprising is how are we are coping with this change.

For over years there have been tremendous efforts made to bring in the whole health infrastructure on the online platform and the rise in COVID-19 cases across the globe has given economies to strengthen their health infrastructure. According to the report released by the WHO on Global Strategy on Digital Health 2020 -2024, its core objective was to promote healthy lives and wellbeing for everyone, everywhere, at all ages. The report released in March 2019 states that the Digital Health would help in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals towards supporting the health systems across all countries and would also help in health promotion and disease prevention. It was thereby suggested in the report that in order to deliver the true potential, national or regional Digital Health initiatives must be guided by a robust Strategy that integrates financial, organizational, human and technological resources.

Considering and working on the lines of this strategy many countries have begun to spur up their initiatives on implementing Digital Health Strategies and one such strategy that was recently developed was the National Digital Health Mission by the Government of India.
The National Digital Health Mission has a core objective of creating a robust database by incorporating inclusive health infrastructure which would observe creating health Ids or health cards for providing seamless health services to every single citizen living in the country.

Even though there have been tremendous efforts in getting the health infrastructure in place, for years together the differently abled have faced tremendous challenges pertaining to acquiring seamless health related services/ facilities. With an idea of social inclusiveness for the differently abled, the National Digital Health Mission would offer health infrastructure to Enable, Encourage and Empower the differently-abled to seek and be provided with the desired healthcare facilities. The mission has been designed to offer one platform to all citizens calling for no discrimination and incorporating social inclusivity through health IDs. This would serve as a great initiative to record details and create e-records of such differently-abled citizens.

While large organisations have opened their arms and are willing recruiting the differently abled as there are various skill based programs that have been offered to make these differently abled candidates job ready. What is even more important is that they have a great health report at hand that would serve the needs of these organisations while recruiting these candidates.

Narayan Seva Sansthan for over years has made various initiatives that hahave been fruitful in getting these differently abled candidates an environment that is no longer different than the one offered to mainstream candidates. Through skilling initiatives till giving them an opportunity to run a sustainable lifestyle, Narayan Seva Sansthan and truly garnered the potential of the differently abled candidates making them ready for mainstream challenges today across all faucets of life. The recently launched National Digital Health Mission would offer e-records of these differently abled candidates giving the government a chance to create future plans on treatments to be given to these candidates and making them ideal and suitable for the mainstream environment.

The implementation of the National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) would bring in a gamut of positive aspects for the differently abled candidates, this would include offering affordable biological products and treatments. It would also help in spurring up the innovative technologies through domestic production of these needed to treat the differently abled. The NDHM  would help in bringing the whole healthcare industry come together would seamlessly Enable, Encourage and Empower the differently-abled to seek and be provided with the desired healthcare facilities. This will definitely create a stir for budding entrepreneurial ventures / start-ups or domestic businesses to work closer to offer the quality, affordable and accessible healthcare services and products that would be beneficial for the differently abled.

Narayan Seva Santhan appreciates the efforts made by the Government and truly supports their objective as it would not only help in transforming the entire health infrastructure, but would create transparency in offering of health services within the country.
