After nearly 2 months, the number of COVID active cases drop down below 50,000 mark in TN

On Wednesday, 9th September 2020, the number of Coronavirus active cases dropped below 50000 after a period of 53 days. The state of TN recorded as many as 5584 fresh cases on Wednesday is a known fact. There were 78 deaths in TN yesterday and the case tally reached 480524.

It was later mentioned by the record that since 7th March 88% of the patients have been cured of the infection and 1.7% have succumbed to this deadly infection. It must be taken into note that last time TN had less than 50000 active cases was on 18th July 2020. At that point of time, TN had as many as 49452 under treatment and the case tally was 165714. 

On 31st of July, TN had the most number of Cvid-19 active cases of 57968.The information collected is in the last few days the average positivity rate for the infection was highest in Cuddalore and Krishnagiri districts with 11percent. The state of TN had an average positivity infection rate of 9percent.

According to Mr. J. Radhakrishnan, state health secretary, in almost all the regions the infection rates have been coming down slowly now. He mentioned about fewer deaths now than a fortnight back.  

He concluded that with fewer fresh cases, greater discharges active cases have come down to less than 10percent now.  Information is Chennai that has been worst hit by Coronavirus infection has got a positivity rate of 8%. Chennai had 993 Coronavirus fresh cases on Wednesday and 14 persons died due to the infection.
