Temples in Chennai are reopening okay, but what about the devotee mindset!!

Many devotees in Chennai are now scared to enter the temples that are crowded. From Tuesday, 1st September, all the temples would be reopened and residents of Chennai are having fears about getting Coronavirus infection if they enter the temples that have crowds.

A Triplicane based resident spoke about how she was wary of going to the temples as the number of Covid-19 cases are on the rise in Chennai. She added that it would take a long time before she would visit temples. Many arrangements are made in the temples for the sake of the devotees.

The devotees must enter through the temple eastern side and exit at the western side. This would be in the Mylapore based Kapaleeswarar Temple. Beginning from 8 A.M in the morning till noon and then from 4pm in the evening for another 4 hours, the devotees would be allowed for darshan in Sri Parthasarathy Temple in Triplicane. It is now said that most of the temples would be following these timings.

Important information is devotees above the age of 65 and below the age of 10 would not be allowed to enter the temples. There would be checks conducted by the temple staff regarding the temperature and ensure everyone sanitises their hands.
