The threat of Coronavirus infection has forced many workers to leave Chennai to their native places is a known fact.

Now, Chennai has less number of Coronavirus cases and many industries have started to function. In this situation, many workers would be coming back to Chennai for their work again. The news is the workers have to undergo compulsory 14 days isolation after reaching Chennai. This was as per Mr. G. Prakash, Chennai Corporation commissioner.

It is revealed that the company must apply for e-pass for its workers from other districts or workers from other states by providing a list of names. For quarantining the workers, the companies must make arrangements. The officials belonging to GCC would inspect the factory premises to make sure that the companies have basic facilities to accommodate the workers.

The team from GCC would also monitor if any workers develop Coronavirus symptoms. This was mentioned by the Chennai Corporation commissioner. In the last 2 days, 500 to 1000 e-passes have been issued by the civic body. He then said that it would not be possible to provide total relaxation of the lockdown restrictions immediately due to the spread of Coronavirus infection.

It is known that the neighboring districts like Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengalpet have been witnessing more number of Coronavirus cases every day. To prevent this, the Chennai model would be adopted in the above said neighboring districts also. There would be more medical camps and testing etc. This was hinted by Mr. J. Radhakrishnan health secretary of TN.
