The prices of vegetables in this week in Chennai

Heavy rains in states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh would not have any effect on the prices of the vegetables in Chennai this week and the prices would remain the same. Recently, there has been a  10% increase in the prices of the vegetables in Chennai is well known.

Secretary of Koyambedu Wholesale Market Association, Mr. P. Sukumaran expressed his views. He spoke about the second crop harvest and lack of laborers due to the Coronavirus pandemic. He explained how after these two above said factors rains in TN as well as in the surrounding states were responsible for the slight damage of the crops.

He then revealed that the prices of the vegetables would be stable this week and this despite the fact that there was a 10% dip in the supply. The supply reasons have resulted in the price hike already in the last week is known. There would be a further increase in the vegetable.
