Heavy rains lash Chennai Metro City! Will continue for 2 more days!

There were very heavy rains which lashed many parts of Chennai and its suburbs on Tuesday evening (28th July). Later, it has slowed down to showers today (Wednesday, 29th July).

However, the weather experts inform that the downpour would continue for two more days!

As per the forecast from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the  sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy.

There are prospects for mild rain over some areas.

The Maximum temperature is likely to be 36 Degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 27 degrees Celsius for the next 48 hours in the city.

On Tuesday (28th July), heavy rains were received in the areas including Tambaram, Chrompet, Perungalathur, T Nagar, Choolaimedu, Aminjikarai, Koyambedu, Kodambakkam, MMDA Colony, Nungambakkam, Pattalam, Otteri, Pulianthope, Choolai and Vyasarpadi.

Even some arterial roads were inundated and the residents, who became happy with the rains, took to social network sites and posted images of flooded streets in Chromepet.

A bulletin issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre said rains are likely to occur over isolated areas like Perambalur, Ariyalur, Salem, Pudukkottai, Dharmapuri, Nagapattinam and Krishnagiri districts.

Thunderstorms with lightning will likely occur over isolated areas in the state over the next three days. Chennai too will experience light rain over the next 48 hours.
