The delay in transporting Coronavirus patients to the screening centres in Chennai would not be there here after. Greater Chennai Corporation or GCC has deployed additional vehicles. It is now mentioned that there would be one vehicle in every division of core Chennai city zones.

The release from the Chennai Corporation stated that to transport Coronavirus patients to the screening centres in Chennai as many as80 ambulances have been deployed. Point is out of 80 as many as42 ambulances are already in service at 107 core city divisions. On Sunday, another 65 vehicles were deployed in addition to the 42 vehicles.

Important information is that the core city zones are Tondiapet, Royapuram, Thiru Vi- Ka- Nagar, Anna Nagar, Teynampet, Adyar and Kodambakkam. As Teynampet zone has got the highest number of divisions that is 18 so more vehicles have been allotted. It is known that in the past all the core city zones had just 6 vehicles.

There are 12 screening centres run by GCC. It is brought out that after the test results confirm a person positive for Coronavirus then he or she below age of 50 without having co-morbidities would be taken to these screening centres for screening.

Based on the doctor`s report at the screening centres, the person would be either sent for home isolation or to any COVID care centres or to any hospital.

On Sunday, new vehicles and a screening centre in Valasaravakkam zone was inspected by Chennai Corporation commissioner Mr G. Prakash and by TN health secretary Mr. J. Radhakrishnan.
