In the month of March, class 12 public examinations took place in the state of Tamil Nadu. The Coronavirus infection threat led to lock down and the last examination was postponed.

The latest news is there would be a delay in the declaration of class 12 public examination results as less number of lockdown hit students have come to take the re-examination.

On Wednesday, minister for school education, Mr. K.A. Sengottaiyan took part in the inauguration of development works in Erode. He explained how out of 34,652 students who missed the exam as they were unable to reach their exam centers due to lockdown just 718 students have applied to write the examination.

He made it clear that the class 12 results would be announced only after all the students appear for the examination. Point is it might take more time and might even delay the announcement of the results of class 12.

It is well known that every year in the month of May class 12 public examination results get announced. Now in this year, COVID-19 infection had cast uncertainty on the examinations triggering concerns amongst students on their future. Some time back, the school education minister announced that class 12 results would be announced in the first week of July.

It was later mentioned by the minister that since a minimum number of students have expressed their interest to take re-exam, he would consult the parents of these students to get their feedback. Later on, the CM of Tamil Nadu would be consulted for arriving at the final decision.
