Southwest Monsoon Rainy Season: Prospects of rain in Tamil Nadu due to thermal convection!

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Center has informed that there are prospects for rains in the next 48 hours in Tamil Nadu due to the thermal convection rain phenomenon.

There are prospects of mild to medium rain with thunder in a few places in the Western Ghat Mountain Range Districts and Kanyakumari.

There are prospects of mild rain in other parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and Karaikkal.

As regards the Chennai Metro City, the sky will remain somewhat cloudy. Chennai may record the maximum temperature of 38 Degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 29 Degrees Celsius.

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre further informed that the low-pressure zone which was expected to be formed today (Monday, 8th June) may be formed tomorrow (Tuesday, 9th June).

The fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea for fishing from 9th June to 12th June as the coastal areas of Andhra, Kerala, and Karnataka and Lakshadweep Islands.

Fishermen have been warned that winds may blow at high speeds from 40 kmph to 50 kmph.  The sea waves may rise up to a height of 3 to 3.4 meters due to turbulence in the Kulachal Coastal Area and fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea as such.
