Staggered exit from the lock down, Chennai residents getting ready now

It is not easy to keep the people inside their houses always and at one point of time this must come to an end.
It is known that the Corona virus positive cases in Chennai haven’t gone down now inspite of many steps taken by the government. Important information collected is officials belonging to several government departments like transport, education and civic agencies etc are getting ready for staggered exit from the lock down.
Throughout the lock down in Chennai, there were many challenges. Initially, Tablighi Jammat meet in New Delhi was considered as the reason for many Corona virus positive cases. Later, Koyambedu wholesale market emerged as Corona virus clusters.
Presently, those who have come back from other countries or states etc have been responsible for many Corona virus cases in Chennai/TN. It is now said that lock down would be lifted with some restrictions in TN and in Chennai and the decision about this staggered exit would be taken at the meeting on 26th May 2020 by CM of TN. As per Dr. V. Ramasubramanian, infectious diseases expert, TN wanted to keep the lock down, relax restrictions and observe if cases come down.
It is shocking to mention here that the number of Corona virus positive cases has been on the rise in Chennai ever since the first case was identified on 18th March. Point is in the month of May 10,229 positive cases got reported and by this the total number of positive cases has risen to 11,131 till now.
It was pointed out by senior epidemiologist Dr. Jayaprakash Muliyil of NIE that virus cannot be eradicated. He added that it would be good to open up and give protection for the vulnerable persons. Former Chennai city health officer, Dr. P. Kuganandam spoke about how saloons and public transport would be opened up again in Chennai and how judicious testing plus contact tracing should be there.
He concluded that malls, places of worship etc should not be opened for some more time. In many government departments, the mood is reflected is known. Safety of the individuals would be given importance.
