Chennai Metro City: Air Pollution Level down by 35%!

The Central Pollution Control Board has informed that the pollution level in the Chennai Metro City is down by 35% as compared to the average!
A senior official of the Central Pollution Control Board informed that based on the statistics taken from 22nd February to 21st March and from 22nd March to 22nd April, the presence of pollutants such as Nitrogen-di-oxide and Carbon Monoxide has come down by 5 to 43%!
The official explained that the major reason for this pollution reduction level is that the ban on public transport due to the lockdown situation and also the various factories being out of operation!
He mentioned that the other presence of pollutants such as sulfur-di-oxide and Nitrogen Oxide were well within the permissible limits set by the National Pollution Control Board.
