The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects for medium rain today (Tuesday, 21st April) in 6 districts including Theni, Dindigul, and Virudhunagar.
So far, the summer rains in Tamil Nadu have not been up to the expected/desired level! Usually, there would be frequent rains caused by the phenomenon of thermal convection in the Western Ghat Range of Hills.
However, this year, summer rains have been scarce so far. A dry climate prevails throughout Tamilnadu. The hot, humid summer has put the people into hardship!
As the citizens are presently confined to their houses due to existing lockdown, most of them have managed to escape from the scorching summer!
Despite the hot, humid weather, there have been rains in a few places due to the phenomenon of thermal convection.
In this situation, the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed about the locations where there are prospects of rains today.
In a notification, it has informed:
It has been raining in a few places in Tamil Nadu in the last few days due to the phenomenon of thermal convection. However, the summer was scorching Yesterday (Monday, 20th April) in several districts.
The Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of mild to medium rain in the districts of Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, and Kanyakumari districts.
