Food being arranged for the roadside/pavement dwellers in the city: GCC

The Commissioner of the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has released a notification:

There are 39 shelter-houses and 12 special shelter-houses functioning under GCC.

As a part of the coronavirus prevention activities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a 1-day public curfew on 22nd March (Sunday).

Accordingly, on that day (Sunday, 22nd March), the houseless citizens living in the areas under the jurisdiction of GCC can join the above-mentioned 51 shelter-houses administered by GCC. On the public curfew day, food would be served to them on behalf of GCC.
