Risk of coronavirus infection through Bank ATMs: Users permitted only after washing with sanitizer!

Ever since the outbreak coronavirus and its spreading, persistent instructions are being given about the mandatory requirement to wash hands regularly and also periodically wash hands with sanitizers. However, the bank ATMs are not taken care of on this aspect and as such, they are unsafe to risk coronavirus spread through infection. Even a single person affected with coronavirus using the ATM may lead to the risk of infection of the other users of the same ATM! ATMs are still kept open as they are for taking care of public financial necessities. However, it can be observed that most of the banks have not made note of the above infection risk factor and have left ATMs unattended.
Some banks such as HDFC allow the ATM user only after washing hands with sanitizers.
The bank staff also wears the facial mask and hand gloves and keep a distance of 1’ away while attending to the customers!
Many of the bank branches have set up ATMs in their branch premises. As such, the security staff ensures that all visitors to ATMs are sprayed with disinfectants and wash the hands. The ATMs are also cleaned periodically.
However, the ATMs located alone in different locations remain unattended with the above care aspects! No security is available. Especially, the ATMs located in the Bus Stations and Railway Stations are used by a large number of passengers – locals as well as from other districts/states! Some users carry the sanitisers.
Though the Health Organisations have announced that coronavirus has still not transformed into an infectious mode, it is still extremely advisable to take precautionary action as such, it is better to be aware that keeping safe is – literally! – in our hands – the regular washing and act with the amply advised precautions!
